Dienes Cubes/Blocks to study 4 operations

Dienes Blocks or cubes are a great tool for learning the four operations after the concept of place value is mastered. They can be used to revise the concept of place value too. However,during a workshop the focus of the session was to know how any hands-on tool must be combined with worksheets of pictures and problems for that ultimate connection of concrete to abstract in a young mind! 
Response of a teacher was, "Worksheet is what was missing in my classes."

Discipline models in classroom

There are several models of discipline by different theorists. However, they can be broadly categorized  as (a) low approach, with low degree of teacher control and high degree of student control; (b) medium approach, with medium degree of approach for both; and (c) high, with high degree of teacher control and low degree of student control.
