Bored student

She was gifted...and bored. She found the concepts too easy to capture but did not wish to be left on her own doing advance Maths. So I asked her if she wanted to take a new concept and design a lesson on it for the class. She agreed, with light in her eyes. She planned, shared the lesson with me and then launched into it fully with CW, HW, evaluation and corrections. She was good! She did not like me much as a teacher, but that day there was a grudging smile for me...

Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers. (Voltaire) All our lives, we have been told that our smartness is measured by the answers that we have. There are several models of discipline by different theorists. However, they can be broadly categorized  as (a) low approach, with low degree of teacher control and high degree of student control; (b) medium approach, with medium degree of approach for both; and (c) high, with high degree of teacher control and low degree of student control. A globally connected world requires a mind that is progressively moving towards a global mind-set.
